Our company values

  • Ethical

  • Charitable

  • Caring

  • Inclusive

  • Progressive

We Are Ethical

Medical writing is our world. But the world outside of that also needs our commitment. So, we aim to operate ethically: offsetting our carbon footprint, planting trees, and considering eco-friendly ways to work.

We also have the courage to fail. Our standards are exceptionally high, but we realise we’re all human. If one of our team makes a mistake, we see the bigger picture and find out why. And we resolve it, together, learning from mistakes and listening with authenticity and compassion.

We’re strict on quality control and follow best practice guidelines. Our regulatory writing is guided by ICH GCP guidelines and relevant regional guidelines, and our med comms writing is backed by a strong understanding of ABPI, GPP, and ICMJE guidelines.

We Are Charitable

We try hard to be the change we want to see in the world. And we are fortunate to be in a position where we can support those in need, by donating through our business. A few of the charities we donate to are: Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Versus Arthritis, Vetlife, Treedom, Medicine Sans Frontier, Diabetes UK, Breast Cancer UK, Down’s Syndrome Association, Doune and Deanston Youth Project, and International Medical Corps. We recently gave a donation at the start of the Ukraine war and when the Turkey earthquakes struck.

Whether it’s donating to UK charities at home or giving aid overseas, we always strive to do better. We give all employees a paid day off to volunteer annually. And we tackle charity challenges together, walking and running for the greater good.

We Are Caring

We promote an open, fair, safe environment, where we support and lift each other up personally and professionally. Our mental health first aider helps staff to identify and recover from issues if they are struggling, while our open conversations about mental health and real-life issues boost trust and authenticity in the team.

We Are Inclusive

We’re acceptionists, not perfectionists. And we’re proud to be an inclusive employer, encouraging our staff to be themselves in a safe, open space. What works for them, works for us. If they need more flex, we grant it. If they need more understanding, we talk it out. We empower everyone equally – all religions, races, ages, genders, and disabilities are welcome here. We celebrate our differences to give people the open doors they need to thrive.

We Are Progressive

We’re big enough to conquer, but small enough to care. That means, we’re driven to deliver results for our clients, but equally determined to make sure our team are comfortable with their workloads.

Overtime is outdated. It’s never something on our agenda. We recognise that people need time and patience to complete their work in an environment that’s right for them. We also recognise that minority groups and women have fewer opportunities, so they’re always at the front of our minds when we’re hiring.

We train our team to be the best they can be, today and tomorrow. All of our med comms writers receive ABPI training, GPP training, EMWA membership, and attend regular training workshops. And all of our regulatory writers receive regular GCP training and refreshers, EMWA membership, attend regular training workshops, and receive a bound copy of the CORE reference guidelines. New writers are mentored and shadowed, and flexi-time, remote working, and part-time are all on the schedule.

We work hard and play hard, with in-person meet-ups and socials to encourage team bonding and genuine camaraderie.

Working with Alchemy for few years, the team have consistently delivered high-quality medical and scientific writing services. From consent forms to protocol development, requirements and timelines are met no matter the job size. Approachability, communication and quality-assured delivery are key reasons we will continue to collaborate.

Rakesh Davda, Vice President – Bionical-Emas

Lesley, Adam and the Alchemy team were extremely professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and dedicated, delivering several high-quality regulatory documents and protocols in a timely manner. Their medical knowledge, experience and attentiveness to our needs were evident in the recommendations and prioritisation of data. The comments they had for us during the process, ability to anticipate our needs, and responsiveness, irrespective of the time zone difference, is illustrative of a truly personalised experience.

Robert T. Keenan, Chief Medical Officer – Arthrosi Therapeutics
